Hello all, I have a 1997 Nissan Maxima and my blower motor just gave out today, however my A/c controls work just fine, besides the fact that no air is blowing through the vents. What could it be Motor or resistor and if possible can anyone tell me where the blower is located?

Thanks,Mike

will it blow air on leve 4. My 95 did this and I found it was the part at the blower motor. Resistor or something cant remember. Replaced the switch first but it wasn,t that. The blower is behind the dash. I think behind the glove box. Get a chiltons repair manual, it will show you or look in this site.

Yes. If it will only blow air on high, the culprit is probably the blower amplifier.

my '94 will only blow on high, or the third setting. I actually have a toggle switch wired in to turn it off or on. So how hard of a job is it to replace the amplifier? Will a chilton's explain this?

Which manual is better, CHilton's or Haynes?

THANKS!!

Go to Advance or Autozone and look at the rapair manuals on the shelf. If one is not in a wrapper open it and read it. Find your problem and write it down or purchase the book. I did this just the other night for my expidition which has the same problem. Fan only works on high level. The book expalined the problem. I was actually at Autozone and they did not carry the part. Went to Advance Auto and they carried the part. I'm not sure which book I had for my 95 Maxima but it was good and explained it all well.

just an update.... if your motor only blows on one speed, usually high, then it's probably the resistor that is burnt out. My '94 maxima did this and when I read the trouble-shooting guide, there were a complicated set of directions explaining all the different ways to try and isolate the culprit. Well, mine was super simple: remove the glove box and there sits the reo-stat (or resistor). it has a recessed white plastic plug receptacle. remove plug, unscrew 2 screws and that's the culprit. it has a tiny little PC board inside with a couple of resistors on it. if you're really savy, maybe you can figure out which one of those resistors isn't working. for me, i threw out the entire part and got a used one for $40. there were several available on ebay.
