Hey, you should get the KYB...I had the same question a month ago and everyone told me to go with the KYB....Even though they Monroe has a lifetime warranty, I would suggest the KYB GR2's..

I changed my two front struts and rear shocks along with my two front stabalizers and the ride was awesome...really nice and smooth..

I just got pissed everytime I hit a pothole or manhole right after...our roads are really bad..but I think you should go with the KYB GR2's

Well I got the KYB's cheap and I am sure you can find it if you search around the net for a decent price.

Why dont you like the monroes? They come with lifetime warranty

All I can say is that Monroe sucks!! That's what I got for my 01 QX4. They are stiff as a rock and it didn't improve my handling much or smoothness. Now that I see that everyone says to get KYB's I will check those out? Does anyone know which retailer carrys them. I've been to a couple of stores and they state "No" "we only have Monroe"...uggh..

what length rancho 9000 did you use with the AC lift spring? You got 9000 or 9000xl? Replacing mine and getting lift springs.

Best website for KYB shocks and struts i used rockauto.com my friend used them and got a good price and they ship fast.. i just ordered mine so ill let you know how they are when i get them and put them on.. got the gr-2 for the strut and the gas-a-just for the back and only paid 234 with shipping for them.. not bad compared to like advanceauto.com who wanted double the amount for each part..

Hi guys! Remember to change your strut top bearings at the front with new OEM Nissan items (the KYB ones suck!).

Sweet.... Did they do the recall fix on the strut mounts ? Did you the GR2's ? Do struts & shocks or just the shocks ?

Putting on some BF Good'richs' on today, getting those new Rugged Terrain T/A's. Went one up, 255/70/16.

Shocks are next. Still trying to decide. Thinking of Rancho 900XL's in the rear and the KYB GR2 struts up front.

they checked out the strut housing and i was number 1 cattagory, so they sprayed a sealant in the wheel wells and also had to change the filler pipe..

i put the Gas-a-Just in the rears and i have the GR-2 for the front which im just waiting for nice weather and i had to order new stabalizer link on both sides ... since i installed the Gas a Just in the rear the truck feels sooooo different when driving and going over bumps in a positive way.. so i cant wait to get the links and install the struts..

Just put on the KYB struts, cant say it is a huge improvement over stock, but they were 1/2 the money. As noted, I did use OEM strut bearings and insulators though.

Last year I installed Gas A Just shocks, that was a noticeable improvement (stocks were trashed though).

Best prices I found for KYB: Amazon.

Yes, that is True! I rarely buy anything off Amazon unless it is sold directly from Amazon, but even then, they are not "authorized sellers" for certain items. eBay is hit or miss, depends on the price.

I believe so on the struts. I was thinking more of car audio equipment or home audio equipment. Amazon is not an "authorized dealer" of some brands, therefore there is no warranty thru the manufacturer.

so i gotta question now.. i changed to the kyb gas a just shocks in the rear of my 99 qx4 it made the truck higher and i love the ride now.. and i changed my rear stabilizer links but now i hear some noise like something is loose back there on the driver side rear of the truck.. ii checked all the bolts and made sure they were tight and didnt get loose..nothing.. could it be that cause it raised the rear up that something is worn and now making noise? and what could it be.. it happens when i got over bumps.. smooth roads nothing

OK, let me have it...... I was shopping for some parts, came across a sale on some rear Rancho RSX 1700 shocks for a 98 Pathfinder. I thought they would bolt right up to my 98 QX4. The thing is, they have to install upside down. The two bolts attaching the shock are different, the top one is I believe a 19mm and the lower is 17mm (something like that) The boot sits on the bottom, not the top. Does this sound right ? I'm calling Rancho today to double check !

i never found out what the tapping was.. its coming from the driver side rear wheel well.. i thought maybe they didnt install the fuel filler pipe tight enough but i checked that and all bolts are tight.. check to make sure i didnt leave the shocks loose they are tight.. when i bounce the truck up and down i hear it.. im thinking maybe i got a defective shock? when i loosened the top bolt on the shock it went away.. hhmmmmm idk :-(
