To start I searched for this and found tons, but they were all regarding the battery draining over days.

My wife has a 2010 G37 sedan. Three separate times now, she has been sitting in the car and the battery dies on here. Specifically she just got done driving, pushes the button to turn the vehicle off, then continues to finish her conference call (about 30 min). In theory when she pushes the button to turn the vehicle off, it should turn everything off, correct? She claims she didn't even have the radio or anything on. Has anyone run into this before?

I replaced the battery the last time this happened because it drained it down so far that it was irrecoverable. We never had a problem with it any other times.

Welcome to NICO!
Some systems may still be powered up until you open the door. She could always just quickly open and close the door to resolve the issue. Try it at home first though haha, just in case it doesn't work.

There's also some systems that remain powered when the FOB is inside the car, although I wouldn't think it would drain the battery in 30 minutes... more like over the weekend.

Yea, it seems a little fishy to me. I assume there would still be some systems on because something has to be searching for the fob whenever it is in the area. I wouldn't think that would drain the battery anymore that usual, unless when it is detected it turns more things on than normal. Also, I was thinking about trying it tonight and just climbing out the window so I didn't have to see there for 30 min.

That assumes it will work when I go jump it tonight to get her home.

Yeah, or you could try the door open and close thing. Just leave the FOB in there.

Well, last night I jumped it and it ran fine. Once she got home I shut the car down and tried restarting. It started fine. Seems the alternator is working as expected. This morning after sitting overnight in 30 deg the car started right up. If I have time tonight I might try leaving the key in the vehicle to see what that does and eventually leaving the key in and climbing out the window.

Just read in another sub-forum here that there is a known problem with audio systems (Boze?) staying on after the car is shut down. Could that be the cause?

Not the same. Mine happens in minutes. Turn your car of but don't open the door for 10 min and see what happens.

I've done it many times while on the phone.
