Hey all,

After a 9 months in a 2012 Genesis 5.0, I am back in an Infiniti. I just purchased a 2012 M56S in Harbour Blue, with 13,000 miles. It is the car I have always wanted, and while the Genesis was nice, it simply was not as refined as the M. The electronics and build quality are incredible.

Glad to be back! :)

Thanks so much guys, I really appreciate the warm welcome back! :mike It is absolutely pouring rain here, so pics will have to wait; sorry. :frown:

I can say this: my initial impressions are that Infiniti got it right; the handling is great, and the new electronics and interface are excellent. I really loved my old 2006 M45, and the M56 takes it to the next level. :dblthumb:

First and most important: paint correction and a full Xpel Ultimate wrap. Possible lowering, but haven't done any research on it.

Car is gorgeous!!!

As for lowering, I believe there are Eibachs springs and BC Coils available for the new M...just to give you a starting place lol

Call me crazy, but I wonder how this model would look with a slight rake (front slightly lower than rear). I love the design of the body except I feel the front is too pronounced.

Makes me re-think buying my 08......The new ones are so damn nice! My dealer had a pearl white M56S that he was trying to get me into. I had a lot of money to put down just didnt want a high payment. Ugghh..... :tisk:

I was kinda' thinking the same; although more along the lines of a rear diffuser to even out front to back.

The '08 is a great car; I really love the improvements they did to the dash layout (no more piano keys) and lighting, the new front end and quarter panel/tail light treatment, and the infotainment system.

Pearl White is absolutely stunning. Payments... well, that's your call. :chuckle:

What the hell; you can't "multi-quote" on this forum?!

A rose is a rose... by any other name, right?! ;) Ah, decisions, decisions....

I think the car would benefit from a drop visually, although the handling is pretty darn good as it sits. I think just springs only would cause premature wear on the Sport struts and shocks, and they are not cheap. I think coilovers would be a better bet for the long term, but I would be concerned about the ride quality.

Your thoughts?!

Lol true indeed sir.

If you're concerned about affecting the ride quality and the cost of new struts then I'd probably go with the coilovers vs. the springs since they will give you the better ability to adjust the characteristics and hopefully get it close to the OEM ride but also have the aesthetics of a lowered car.

I think coilovers would be the better way to go, for sure. From a cost standpoint, it is really about a wash. You can buy the Eibachs, pay for install, and then have to replace struts and shocks down the road. Or, do the coilovers, and have your stock suspension intact sitting in the garage.

My first order of business is to get those gawd awful RE050's off the car, and install some Conti DWS's. :)

Agreed. I guess your decision will come down to if you want to spend the money up front or later down the road.

The old saying "you can pay a little now, or a lot later" applies here. ;)
