hey guys. my pathfinder is a 2001 with bose audio, factory navigation, and an aftermarket kenwood deck with a sub/amp setup. my problem is the audio fuse intermittently goes out sometimes within an hour of putting a new in it and sometyimes it takes a week or two. ive had this problem since i got the car a few months ago. anyone else run into an issue like this? i pulled it all apart; no touching wires i can see and the nav unit is a remanufactured unit so perhaps its in that? also the problem has been occuring since before i put the amp/sub in. i should also note ive used higher amperage fuses (up to a 20 amp) and even a paperclip to try and sort out the issue but unfortunately not even a paperclip could resist and ultimately burned up. all help/ideas/thoughts is appreciated.

Using a paper clip in place of a fuse is a very bad idea and an electrical fire could result. Please don't do that again.

A blowing fuse always indicates a short, or too much current draw. I would pull the door panels off and ensure the speaker wiring is intact as well.

Any kind of short can cause a fuse to blow.

Are you powering the separate amp and subwoofer off the audio fuse? That would be a mistake because the audio fuse
and the power wiring it protects are sized to the Bose system.

And what towncivilian said about not using a paper clip (or bigger fuse). Modern cars and trucks are carefully engineered
for minimum weight. That means using wiring that's just big enough to handle the current draw, and that wiring means
using a fuse that's just the right size for the wiring.
