Same here. Screw taking out the shifter. Using a pump, the fluid starts to overflow just the same when it's full.mchkc240 wrote:Nice write-up man. I used the pump kit. It does take some time but at least you wont have to take out the shifter
I assume you have some kind of silicone seal on the thread plugs? Heating it might help. I dont know the consequences of heating a steel plug in an aluminum tranny. A couple people have done it that way. For me, the answer was a long handle or a cheat bar. Just be careful not to strip hole because it is .51 inches not .50.Philipio wrote:Same here. My drain plug WILL NOT come off no matter what. I used a pump to drain all the fluid the best I could. Any suggestions for the future?
It's been so long since I tried I honestly don't remember exactly what's wrong with it. I know for a fact it's way too tight and I've seemingly tried all the tricks to get it off. It might be slightly stripped too. Basically, previous owner's fault.vancouverbc wrote:

That happened to me a long time ago. I was trying to change the fluid on the road. I had a breaker bar on the drain plug and it just started to strip. I waited until I got home and hit it with the impact gun. Came right out. If you don't have an impact... you could try using a punch and a steel hammer to lightly tap the plug and try again.Philipio wrote: My drain plug WILL NOT come off no matter what.
