After reading the car and driver article, I really wouldn't mind test driving one.

It does look pretty nice, but at that price point - we're so close to Q50 land with more horsepower, no CVT, RWD, and (usually) better customer support. I'd find it hard justify not spending a few extra dollars on a Q50, especially if they're fixing the "steer by wire" issues. It's weird going back and looking at the concept car pictures that were released in 2014, because in many ways - the designers stayed fairly close to the concept, but what changed was enough to really cheapen the appearance. I know they have to be able to make money on these things, but I guess I was hoping that the production version would be closer to the concept.

There's nothing impressive about eeking by the low end BMW and Audis...previous generation Maximas competed with the top BMW in their class. Nissan has just lowered their standards in recent years...

^ BMW owners *hate* reading that. :)

Then again, some of the old-school BMW guys are still perpetuating the myth that the 510 copied the BMW 2002.

I'm curious to drive one.

I got to sit in one at Cars and Coffee last weekend - it's easily one of the nicest interiors that Nissan has made since I have been into them. I'm lumping Infiniti into that statement as well (with the exception of the newly revised QX56/QX80/whatever the f*** it's called - that's the nicest interior I have ever touched in ANY car). It further excites me that a lot of those interior bits will likely make it into the next Z.

I might snatch one up on a lease if they're reasonable so I can have a DD and quit beating up the Z.

I guess I don't understand the video - it appeared to be a Nissan commercial/advertisement. I was under the impression all four cars would be tested and objectively talked about. Instead the nissan was praised and everyone else was ridiculed.

I got to test drive the new Maxima last weekend and the interior is the best I've seen in a Nissan but it's no four-door sports car. It may be sporty compared to its full-size rivals but CVT and FWD just doesn't a "sports car" make. Too bad with Nissan having to worry about encroaching on Infiniti territory we'll probably never see a properly sporty Maxima. I asked a friend of mine on the engineering team about the chances of a Nismo version and he scotched that hope.

I must admit a white SR Maxima with the right additions looks pretty good though lol.
