I know about sti r180 rear different conversion. Any other vehicles with a r180 (4 spider) gears or limited slip that will drip into a s30 chassis? Maybe a svt subaru?
I know about the wolf creek 930 cv conversion. A little spendy but works. I just don't like all the bolts you gotta trust I think it's like 24 bolts per axle?
I read somewhere about vw bug cv axle shafts working anyone have any info or real hands on experience with a cv swap?

Well the simplest is the 87.5-89 300ZX Turbo's Clutch type R200, or any aftermarket R200 LSD dropped into any 75-89 R200 housing. While finding the Z31 CLSD is hard finding an off the shelf aftermarket unit for installation into an R200 housing is easy but expensive. 4 pinion open R200's are out there I couldn't tell you which cars they came in but I had one that come from one of the numerous z cars I've built or parted. I believe Gabe at TTT also has a kit for running the later short case R200 and CV's but I know nothing of the conversion.

Of course swapping to an R200 means using the 75-78 R200 Mustache bar or aftermarket piece form TTT or AZC etc.

The 81-83 280zx cv shafts fit the chassis with the matching companion flanges but they flanges need modified a bit. 84-89 Z31 Turbo cv's can and will work after flipping the tulip but require a highly modified or special built companion flange, Ross (RIP) of modern motorsports used to make these not sure if anyone else has stepped up but they are a tight fit and a better choice if you have adjustable LCA's and and camber plates allowing you to dial in a bit of breathing room.

I read that the r 200 and zx cv axle binds when the suspension is compressed. It's been a little bit since I read up on that swap.
I'm curious to see what others have done with the r180 and cv conversions.

I drag raced and auto crossed with the r200 and cv swap for years without issue as have many others. Yes it's tight, flipping the tulips help, there is some guy selling shortened shafts for around 300 IIRC, just the shaft you need your own ends, but all the parts are strong, not like toyota cv's that bottom out and snap. CV's on an R180 and you have a lot fewer options and weaker parts.
