I know the question has been on some of our minds... Does anyone have the hookup? I've done the usual searches and i'm comming up empty handed. I know the rest of the exhaust is fairly easy to get upgraded at a good custom muffler shop, but an intake and exhaust system only flows as much as it's weakest link.

Any links? Any thoughts?

Only headers that have been made for VH have been completely custom. If you want headers thats gonna be the way to go.

Be advised that headers are usually considerably louder in the passenger compartment beyond any other increase in exhaust sound, because of the much thinner walls. They also tend to leak in many cases, and even coating the exterior doesn't keep them from rusting out from the inside.

Quite a few members here have tried to increase HP with intake and exhaust mods, and only gotten negligble gains, usually not worth the expense and effort. Infiniti did a heck of a job when they designed the VH45. Outside of a tunable ECU, forced induction, or NoS, there's not much that can be done to improve a VH 45. Now I suspect someone will chime in and tell us how they got another 50 HP with headers and a K&N air intake system, but that's not the consensus.

Wanna make your G50 faster? Try a lower ratio rear axle gearset, and chop weight from the car. That's might be your best bet, and probably the most economical.

P.S. Don't kill the messenger that brought the bad news.

just bored and thought i would drop by and to my surprise I see the same topics keep coming up time & time again. It is kind of pointless to respond to somebody looking for headers or any other serious mod since 99% of the time they are just tire kickers day dreaming (not saying you are in this case...but in general it is very very true). Anyway...believe what you want to believe about headers adding more HP...I have no real comment there on how much extra HP they added for my car. What I can tell you is that they seriously smoothed out the HP/torque curve such that my car pulled extremely hard all the way to 7,400rpms. Totally different than stock with the HP curve severly dropping off towards redline 6,900. With the headers it basically flattened out the curve making for a very nice long smooth pull from 3,000~7,400rpms so while some may argue that the "peak" hp did not increase I will definitely have to say the HP at 7,000 was probably 30~40 HP greater than stock because of the lack of a drop off. Take it for what its worth and look up my old dyno charts before & after and you will see the curve is almost flat for a very long time.

Now...your best & cheapest option is to just punch out the CAT's vs $2,000 for a custom set. Never heard that headers add noise/heat/leaks/rust unless of course you buy them at Walmart. With all products....by only the best and you save $$$ and headaches in the long run unless you putting it for show & quick sale to some idiot buyer. If I recall after speaking with Rex a few months ago my headers (now 3+ years old with over 30,000 miles) are doing perfect with no issues with leaks, ceramiic coating, etc...then again they cost me $2,000 and 6 weeks for the idiots to finally build them although apparently they did a decent job.

yeah lol it's not bad news.. you're right. I got a few horses from my DIY cold air intake and now scares the cr@p outta people with the sound. And I might do a custom cat-back, but again, more for audible pleasures than horses. this would leave the headers the weakest link as far as airflow, but I would never pay a shop the 1000$ it would probly take to make custom headers for a car i paid 2900$ for. Just wondering really if there was any out there... i didn't think so.

Yeah you're right! but im not in that crowd. got my NICO ecu on order, got my strut bar, intake, and suitcase muffler comming off next week. Don't get me wrong, I'm not as race dedicated as you... hell i'm on a broke college student budget. Maybee one day i'll get some custom headers made, for now i'm sending the idea to the back.
