How do you like it compared to the old Quest. Would appreciate your honest response. Also did you compare it to the Oddessy and Sienna

Hi kyo7878 - I just picked up a Quest LE last night. I notice one problem that the 12V power/cigarette lighter outlet under the DVD player wouldn't turn off after I shutted down and locked the car. I plugged in my radar detector and went to work, when I got back to the car a couple hours later, I noticed that my radar detector was still on. I understand that this car has delay power off function, but that outlet just doesn't turn off.

Did you notice this problem? Or just some software issue of my car. I am bringing it to the dealer to see if they can solve that problem. I don't want to drain my battery during my first week of ownership.

Went to the dealer and found out that most new Nissans have the power outlet on all the time. I guess I have to unplug anything after shut down to prevent battery drain.

I was getting my Rogue serviced the other day and while I waited I checked out the new Quest in the showroom - a minivan is not really my dream vehicle but boy I have to say I was impressed with this vehicle. The looks were the best of all competitors (Sienna maybe a close second), I loved the unique flat cargo area that no other van has (they all have the deep wheel/tub in the back where the 3rd row dumps into).

For family road trips with my wife and 2 young kids this would be absolute pefection, but I just can't justify purchasing one for a few road trips a year and them I'm stuck driving this thing to and from work alone the rest of the year. I have been considering a 3rd row CUV/SUV upgrade over my Rogue but if you have kids with car seats that's a no-go because you have to flip the second row set up to access the 3rd row, not possible in lots of cases and a pain even at the best of times........I guess I'm getting closer to becoming a van guy.

Any and all comments on the new Quest would be great, thanks!

Why what?

See my questions in my post above, I'm trying to have a discussion regarding the new Quest, such as why did you purchase the Quest over the Sienna or Odyssey or Caravan? I'm leaning towards the Sienna right now myself, but am interested in hearing about the new Quest.

Yep! Brought a Dark Mahogany SL 3 days ago. Love the looks - the rich exterior color, leather beige interior, the turn signals on the mirror, the styling especially the rear (and the front!), the steel lines that run along and accentuate the dark body and it looks huge compared to the sedans and the CR-V we drive... The CV Transmission rides like a dream. The engine does 'sound' a bit too powerful and makes sure one does not forget they are driving a big van. But road noise is much quieter than others out there.

I test drove the XLE (leather/sunroof) Odyssey. The Honda interior plastics look cheap (even on their XLE trim). Also did a drive on the Mazda CX-9. That one rides well, but was too noisy (road as well as engine) and bumpy compared to the Quest (maybe due to their 3.7L engine).

Maybe its just first time owner glee, but we sure do love our SL!

I absolutely love my Quest. I bought the SV model, but it has a lot of standards that the other makers only include on the higher up models. This is my daily driver and I have no complaints what-so-ever. I get a lot of complements on the looks of the van too.

Just picked up a 2012 SL with DVD and dual moonroofs. We have had Honda's 2005 and 2009's and when we compared the 2012 against the new Quest it was unanimous. The Quest drives, feels like a luxury car. Honda has dropped the ball in terms of quality, I noticed in shopping some areas of the van are not even painted if they are not seen, only primed. There were just so many little things that for us were better in the Quest. I really feel Infinity designers were involved in this one!

Very Satisfied customer so far.

new 2012 Quest LE today. this is our first mini-van and something we had resisted as all of our friends got the Toyota or Sienna models. the expectation of kid #3 made us look again and it and down to the Flex and Quest...there was no comparison as far as value for money.

what surprised me was how close the interior was to my M35! I will just close my eyes getting in and out to trick my mind (not that the exterior is not nice, I think it looks pretty great as far as min-vans go)

Picked up a 2012 Sl about a month ago. Came out of a 2004 Oddy EXL-RES. Love the new van..will never own another Honda. Unfortunately......there are no good informative Quest forums that I can find. The Oddy Forums was fantastic.

We bought 2012 Quest SV last Feb 2012. It's a been a year old and we have no issues, yet. The V6/CVT combo is perfect for this minivan as it delivers the power smoothly. The interior is very quiet, you don't even hear the engine running. It has been used on 3 long road trips since we got it and it is very comfortable. Fuel economy is great on the highway/freeway. 'We're happy with our van. And the styling is unique, compared to the boring Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey. Interior quality is superb, Infiniti-like. Not cheap plastic looking like the competition.

Just pick up 2013 SV and right away put on road test to Montreal which is 600 miles in first day ,CVT is very smooth everything working well ,already done little shopping ,all season mats installed with some trim also i ordered on ebay used mirror from Altima with home link and planning to tap into my Passport radar detector and i hope that will be a quick connections,my only disappointment is missing of music streaming protocol in Bluetooth available only with navi /on my Infiniti EX 35 i prefer Google Navigation from my cell over nissan set-up/but maybe plug in chip will work, otherwise I love my new ride in every aspect . I traded 2005 Honda Odyssey with 270000 miles on it and not even one problem but new Honda is more expensive and we slowly mowing into nissan territory .Sienna with electric steering turns me off ,so unresponsive,no connection between driver and road .I looking forward to spend many hours in my bus like vehicle

Just got mines last week.. We traded in the rogue for a quest s. Smooth engine and the cvt is great. 42in of headroom and my 6'5 frame is loving it. The fold forward design is convenient and the storage behind the back row can fit three coolers
