How much do you think a salvaged coupe is worth all fixed up better than new? Im located in the mid west 64801
I thought about just posting my Email and they can contact me through the Email at first before I give out my #! I just dont want automated spammers calling me from nigeria. Lol what do you guys think?

Craigslist attracts some of the finest people

Put a For Sale sign on it and park it in a supermarket parking lot with your cell number

Have used Craigslist in the past to sell cars and car parts.
Started getting all kinds of spam crap to my phone.
spell out some of the digits of phone if you put it.
always use the anonomous email id feature.
Might want to use a disposable email ID, not your main one.

I would also always do as much digging about the person that contacts me.
If you can get their name, check court calendar, arrest calendar, check where they live, tax records, google their id...etc before you agree to meet them. Give out as little about yourself as possible....use a fake name...
also, meet during day in a parking lot that is busy. Take a friend with you.
If you have your carry conceal....enough said.
Stay Safe!!!
Have also used CARS.COM....but, the last guy said he saw my car on Craigslist....

The Op said it has a salvage title. He should check with a few insurance companies because it may not be possible to insure/and or register and get it inspected in some states.
The vehicle could be declared not road worthy. I'm not sure!
It may only be good for parts.
Perhaps a local junkyard might be interested in the parts?

Thanks for the response, yes the car is road worthy and fixed up. Runs and drives awsome! Needs inspection to be legal. I like all the advice he gave in regards to CL! Im not posting my name or address for obvious reasons. I did use my email address
That I use daily, will I get a bunch of spam? If so will the spam stop when I take my account down? I posted my cell number but spelled a couple of the digits out like you specified. Take a friend with me to do the transaction so I dont get robbed? No I dont have a cc but I do have a glock 9mm. Are ppl really this untrustworthy on CL?

A car with a salvage title is worth less than one with an ordinary title. I can't tell you how much less. It's like a car with a record of a major accident on CarFax but even worse. Your insurance agent should be able to tell you about any complications with insurance. How much his company would pay if it were totaled, compared to a similar non-salvage example, should give you a clue about the reduction in value.

The things you need to worry about when buying or selling via Craigs List are getting mugged or swindled. The money involved in an automobile sale is enough to tempt serious criminals. Is your bank big enough to be a busy place? That, along with their video surveillance, should protect against car jacking. Your bank should be able to advise you on a secure way to receive payment. For example, if the buyer brings a bank check, your bank can verify with the issuing bank that the check isn't a forgery.

He asked about method of payment and I said I pefer cash but will accept a check if we can finalize transaction at the bank and make sure funds clear accounts. Any advice on that procedure? If someone is coming to look at the car, they must think it's a fair price (or they just want a joy ride... hard to tell)

I think your market will determine what the car is worth, if no one buys it at that price, time to go lower.

Good luck on the sale :)

Yes it is hard to tell if the are serious or just wants a joy ride. Driving 3 hours I would think they would be serious or they are serious to rob me.. lol

Either way your right, if im not getting any bites after a couple months, I will consider lowering the price. Like I said I got wiggle room.

What do you guys think about the other G35 prices in my general area?

I listed my Camaro on CL and Autotrader. I got much better response and better quality of person on Autotrader.

Don't meet someone at a location far from home and don't accept a personal or Cashier's check! Have them meet you at your bank.

Not everyone of course, but enough to be very, very careful. By the way, just because someone says they are coming 3 hours doesn't mean they're not actually just around the corner.

Correct...they can stop the payment to you! You can even make a bogus Cashier's check on the internet. It happened to a friend of mine.

What do you mean I should of posted it earlier? If you are referring to my add, I was just waiting untill tax return season was here to better my odds. Im really in no hurry to sale it. Its paid off but honestly I never drive it! I own a 04 Saturn and a 07 GSXR 1000 and the Saturn is just cheaper on gas and parts. Its not as good looking as tge G35 but I never have time to date. Ive ben working on my bachelors degree and im busy all the time, by the time summer rolls around I practally LIVE on my GSXR cuz I love riding . So im really not going to get anything but I might buy a wrecked car and fix it up to make more money during the summer. Paying ins on 3 cars is killing me.

Becki wasn't saying you should have posted your CL ad earlier.

She was saying that you might have already made a post here explaining what your plans for transportation will be after you sell the G35.

Which you answered :)

I also sold a svt cobra for 9K cash....He brought all 100 dollar bills.
Met him in parking lot of nice grocery store. Had my wife check bills with pen.
Initially, he gave me a fake name....
But, once we agreed on terms on the puter, he gave me his real name and I was able to do some research on him before we met. Teaches at a community college.
Super nice guy!! Sent me pics of the mustang once he put new rims on her.
Then again after he replaced the vert top!

Don't meet somebody alone and make sure you get enough info. to research them....

Thats a good idea to check the bills. I can get a pin and have sombody check it. I have been getting alot of inquiries but I dont think someone is serious until they come look. And if they come from longways away, I doubt they wanna go home empty handed. I will have my Glock (hand gun) with me. :chuckle:

Yes! always be prepared!!....just make sure that your look out is prepared too!!!
If you do enuff research and only meet those that you can research, should not be any issues.

A safe way to receive payment is PayPal. You would have to contact them to learn what they would charge. Also, consider eBay.

Beautiful car. I love the color. Stands out in a crowd. I would advise more and better interior shots.

Be careful. We just had a guy killed here this week selling a car on Craigslist...there again, this is Memphis. :tisk:
