OK I checked the forum and there are several towing questions, but none seem to revolve around towing a tent trailer. I have AWD Rogue, rated at 1500lbs.
Just my wife and myself and possibly our Golden Retriever. We used to camp a lot when the kids where younger, but they dont want to come along with mom and dad anymore( thank god :) )
Anyways can my Rogue handle this kind of a pop up trailer?? Thanks for any feedback

Once loaded up, you will likely be right at the weight limit. It should be fine however. Pop up trailers are pretty aerodynamic so size/length should not matter. Just be mindful when loading to keep the tongue weight in check. Too much or too little is a bad thing as it can cause all sorts of weird handling.

Read the Nissan Towing Guide here:

http://www.nissanusa.com/pdf/techpubs/2 ... gGuide.pdf

Note that the GCWR (Gross combined weight rating) of the Rogue (Rogue + passengers + cargo + trailer), is 5636lbs. For a Rogue SL AWD, it leaves about 2100lbs for passengers, cargo, and trailer. Some jurisdictions enforce GCWR weight limits and may fine you for overloading your vehicle.

That is a nice trailer, we saw one in camping once and fall in love with it. But since we have nowhere to store it, we still did not do the move to buy one.
The people having it loved it very much, seems to be very versatile and easy to use.
What is your experience with it?

As for using it with the Rogue, as Philip said, as long as you are reasonable about loading it , you shouldn't have any problem with it. Don't forget every manufacturer keeps some margin when they give us the 1500lb limit.
Just don't forget you are trailing something, that is when we go a little bit too fast and problems can occur.

Have fun.

I read somewhere on the forum even the 2008 Rogue SL FWD Premium package is rated at 1500lbs since it has the high capacity radiator, aux oil cooler, etc? Can anyone confirm?

The increased towing capacity is due to the addition of an auxiliary transmission cooler. The engine radiator size however is the same on all Rogue's.

Please read my thread about which models have the higher towing capacity:

Not possible. There is no way to access the CVT oil system to tap in an external oil cooler.

The stock Rogue CVT has two cooling systems:

1) A special heat exchanger bolted to the side of the CVT. Engine coolant is circulated through this exchanger to help cool the CVT when warm and to transfer heat to the CVT when cold to aid CVT warmup during cold weather.

2) Optionally, Paddle/Manual shifted CVT's use the same heat exchanger as above but it has additional oil ports. These are connected to an external radiator located behind the bumper. CVT fluid then circulates through the rad for additional cooling.

Unfortunately, you cannot buy just the heat exchanger with the ports to convert your base CVT as Nissan does not sell the individual parts.
