My girlfriend got a flat while driving my 2008 Nissan Rogue. The inside of the wheel is cracked and seems like pressure was forced outward. Below is a picture:

How can this happen? Where can i purchase an OEM wheel?

Wow, that looks harsh. Which wheels do you have? Ebay has some of the 17" Rogue wheels for sale.

I have the factory alloy wheel.

Do you trust reconditioned wheel?

The 2008 still has the band type TPMS, right? You should be able to just take the band off and switch it to the new wheel. You're still using the same sensor, so there's nothing to reprogram. As for a reconditioned, that usually means that the face was scratched or something and they resurfaced it. It could also mean that it was bent, but there's no way to tell. Read through their feedback on Ebay and see what others have to say. You'll certainly pay a whole lot more than what they get on Ebay for a new one from Nissan....

Bought the the wheel with the tire to a repair shop today. Without seeing the rim, the repair guy said the tire is garbage. I have 24K on the OEM tires. Should I get two or four brand new tires?

If you don't replace all 4, you're going to have staggered replacement times on the tires. Are the OEM tires Continentals? I've always hated that a lot of the Nissan's come with Contis. Thankfully my Rogue came with Dunlops instead.

Yeah, all four tires are OEM tires Continentals. I am thinking about purchasing Hankook Optimo H727.

I am going to pass on those reconditioned rims. I am going to keep this car for awhile and don't want to take a chance like this happening with a reconditioned rim.

No. Any competent tire dealer should have the replacement seal kit (includes an o-ring, and valve core) and be able to switch the sensors for you. No programming is required so long as you don't install a new sensor.
MadOx75 wrote:The 2008 still has the band type TPMS, right?
Nope. It's integrated with the valve stem:

Considering the mileage, you could get away with just two and use the new ones on the front. Don't rotate them until the wear equalizes a bit. I would be careful during the winter though... putting the highest traction tires on the front could result in a vehicle that may want to oversteer. The VDC will help though.

If it were me, I would pitch the Conti's. Almost any tire you put on there is going to be better in terms of noise, performance, and esp. winter traction!

Goto Rogue (S35) 2008-2011 => Genuine Nissan Parts => Axle and Suspension => 433 Road Wheel and Tire

Direct link:
http://www.courtesyparts.com/40300-whee ... 77380.html

The actual Nissan part # is:

40300-JM02A
ALUMINUM WHEEL 17X7JJ, Rogue +2008 HB. SL

Note: The part # has changed a couple of times. If a dealer were to enter this it will give the reference to the correct #.

Copy and paste that, it wont let me make it a link.

Looks like it retails for around $500.

AznJohn22,

Not sure if your is AWD. If it is, it's even more important to keep all 4 tires the same.

Having tires with varying levels of traction (2 new and 2 used and/or mixing brands) or vastly different diameters (worn vs. new) could create issues with the AWD and VDC systems.

Link fixed by moderator. Use the URL tags when posting links, not 'Code'
I originally used the URL tags, but because the keywords= is followed by brackets, it messes up the bbcode. Sorry.

I just tried messing with it Madox75. There is something about the forum software that doesn't like that URL.

The link I posted earlier works better.

AznJohn22,

I would also try searching various Nissan parts websites using the part # I provided. Google won't pull it up, you have to manually go to each site and search the part #.

Also, don't forget to check out our site sponsors on the RH sidebar => and http://www.everythingnissan.com

Wow. Such a big price difference between the Nissan dearlership's part department and website. They said it would cost $614 for the new rim. From $614 to $367.

The one in that link looks like its just a steel wheel, doens't it? If you look at the illustrations, the 40300M seems like its the correct wheel. Take a look at this link - http://bit.ly/g6wny5 I'm pretty sure that either the one on the right of the first row or the left of the second row is the wheel you need. I could be wrong, but looking at the illustrations they offer, I'm pretty sure thats the correct wheel...

My Nissan parts FAST software is not up to date. There seems to be several part no's for this wheel.

AznJohn22, rather than guess I would just call the dealer and get the quote with the correct Nissan part no. so you can cross shop it online.

Also, don't forget to add shipping when shopping online! The wheel is ~20lbs and bulky. It's not going to be cheap to ship to your door!

AznJohn22,

Nissan lists 4 different part no's for the 2008-2010 Rogue 17" alloy wheel:

40300-JM025 - 17X7JJ HAYES LEMMERZ
40300-JM01A - 17X7JJ HAYES MEXICO
40300-JM02A - 17X7JJ LIUFENG
40C00-JM02A - 17X7JJ LIUFENG

They are all the same wheel.

The different #'s are simply used to denote the supplier the wheel came from. This is quite a common in Nissan's part numbering system. The dealer uses the FAST parts ordering system and it will automatically substitute any of these part no's depending on which is available.

hmm ... how come they have different prices? The website has part# 40300-JM02A for $386 and part # 40300-JM025 for $ 483.45.

Probably each wheel was made in different countries and for different countries. It doesn't matter if it looks the same but the labor cost is different....it's just my guess. If you want a brand new rim from one of the Nico's sponsors you should give them your vin number of the car and they will give you the exact item. Just give them a call to find out which part you need and how much does it cost.

If you call the Nissan dealer, they can tell you the exact wheel you need from your VIN #. That's what my dealer did when a tire shop messed up my OEM wheels and had to pay for replacements.
Also, have you at all tried to see if the dealer would replace the wheel under the bumper to bumper warranty? I mean, that's pretty crazy that happened to an OEM wheel...can't hurt to have the dealer take a look at it. Worst thing that could happen is they say no, and the best thing that could happen is Nissan pays for your new wheel.

Does the circle with the Nissan logo on the rim come with the new wheel?

Also, what is the average price to mount and balance per tire? Thanks.

No, it doesn't.

# 40342-EG110 - NISSAN ROGUE - ORNAMENT-DISC WHEEL

Usually around $20. Depends where you go. You also need to transfer the TPMS sensor so factor in a few $$$ for that and make sure they replace the seals!
