Aerodynamic Kit: Before & After

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I still don't know whether it was worth to make this upgrade. Somehow, I expected the kit to be less subtle, more aggressive. But what's done is done, right?
Here're pictures before and after.

Proudly installed it myself. This is not a civic forum, so I doubt anyone needs a walkthru. However, if someone considers to do a DIY installation, I can post a copy of instructions with a few tips.
Next should be the springs if I won't be lazy.
I wish my tires would worn out faster, so it would be easier to justify getting a 20 inch upgrade.

Nice. What did the kit cost you?

Door under molding $293
Front protector $383
Rear Protector $239
Side Sill Protector $276
Plus around $120 for shipping, no Tax
Like I said, don't know if it's worth it. Most people, even EX owners, don't see the difference unless I point it out.

They only notice the tint :)

Very nice. I think the effect is subtle, but definitely increases the appearance. Also, I think the effect is more pronounced on cars that are any other colour besides black.

Your car will look awesome with a new spring kit and 20" wheels!!! Can't wait to see pictures.

I wish I could get one, but here in Canada, it would act like a snow plow during the first storm! Bye bye $2k.....!

actually, the kit doesn't make the car any lower. It only changes the shape of lower parts to stick out more.

I am sorry but whoever cannot tell the difference is probably blind
There are people that cannot tell the difference between FX and EX...
I got a black EX, my brother got a black FX, we both have black rims... And you don't know how many times I am driving my EX and friends just asked me why am I driving my brother's car...

It's not they're blind, it's you who has extraordinary vision, since those who don't see are in majority. ;)
I've got to agree with exceptional remark of EXceptional: the kit is more visible on lighter colors. On black one could just paint the lower plastic part. However, I bet good paint job would not be any cheaper then the kit.

Maybe I was been to harsh, but the kit is very visible specially in person.
I have the front lip installed and painted the rest. I think its a great way to save some cash since I am not a big fan of the design for the side skirts. I am not sure how much it will cost you to paint but its about 400~500 here in SoCal to get everything else painted including the trim piece around the wheel.

I had to make a small cut-out for the hitch. The good thing was that you can still install the rear protector (the hitch would be right behind it & not in the way) and make the cut-out later. My hitch receiver is practically invisible now - just look at the picture or the rear above! One can say that's an additional benefit of having the aerodynamic kit

Beware though, if they make a mistake ordering a wrong part, you'll have to pay for the return shipping. I tried to fight with them but gave up and let it go. Still think that's wrong and thus reluctant to help their business by directing anyone to them.

Resurrecting and old thread - just ordered my kit today. I'm good at customizing - so this should be a breeze to install.

I'm guessing it just get applied OVER the existing front and rear - with the side sills and side covers being removed and replaced. The front sonar sensors should just pop out and then pop back into the new covers.

Shaski2 - if you are still around - am I right?

you're absolutely right. It's easy - just follow the instructions.
Make sure you align the front lip exactly on the center - it's very short and even slightest misalignment will cause the side parts pop up from the fenders

I think it looks very nice and being painted just makes it look more complete.
How are those painted areas holding up to the little rocks and pebbles on the road?

The body kit arrived today...installed the side skirts and mouldings in about an hour...easy breezy. Then lost sunlight.

I'll do the front and rear this weekend.

I see the rear has 5 points that need drilling with the tmeplate...Shaski, any pointers?

to be honest, I don't remember any drilling. I think the back is easy, not as easy as the sides, but easy. I had to do an extra step to cut out an opening for the hitch. I repeat, be extra careful with the front center alignment.
The instructions usually are very detailed, so if you follow them to the letter you'll be fine. In general, though, when I drill on the car body, I start with a smaller diameter drill bit, because it's easier to position precisely. Possibly, the drilling was on plastic and that would be really easy because of its softness.

How about you take off that car dealer "ROTO" decal off your paint.

I hate those. That crap would never fly in California, but they seem to be all over the place on the east coast and midwest.
