Advice on replacing heater core

A home for 1983–1989 300ZX owners!

I am going to try to change my heater core I know it's going to be hard to do from what I hear,Has anyone ever done this on a z31? Should I pull it out from under the glove box or remove the dash?any advice or tips would be great. thanks

The ONLY way to get it out is to remove the whole dash.

Hardest part is getting the defroster vents off without either snapping them in two, or rendering the metal clips that hold them on useless.

the Z31 is a royal PTA to get the heater core in and out, don't get lazy, take out the steering colum and sash completelu, you'll cuss less
