Turned the car off today and the abs unit was buzzing. A slap on the abs unit and some relays near it and it stopped. This has happened before. Is this a bad relay? Has anyone had this happen?

Yes its a bad ABS relay, replace it before it complety drains your battery and then takes out your alternator there after.

Use new relay unless you get a used one for cheap.

Where is it located? Is it labeled?

Relays only have a finite useful life. Every activation of ABS reduces it. Could it be that your tires are harder than oem designed 160-200 treadwear index and thus more than normal ABS cycles per year?

What does a relay cost? And how often should they be replaced?

$30.80 MSRP and $23.10 Infiniti Of Scottsdale price.

When to replace the relay is hard to say like Q45tech said because it depends how much you use ABS, Basically the more you use ABS the less the life of the relay.

I am still on original factory installed relays at 225K, and my ABS gets activated somewhat frequently during Maryland winters.

Seems to me we need everyone's input. Tech is invaluable with 12 thousand plus posts and more hands on experience than anyone else I know of. That seemed like an uncalled for statement so I felt the need to put it in perspective.
