Hello everyone. This is my first time on this site and it looks awesome. I am here to see if anyone can help with whats going on with my drivers side seat. The seat back went all the way back but only returns about 2 inches and the motor slowly stops. I pulled the seat out to take a better look. From what I'm reading i better be careful for the airbags. Whoops. Has anyone had this issue before? THe seat goes forward, back and up and down fine, but even those movements are starting to sould a little off. Please help because I'm tired of having the major lean going on while I'm driving. Thanks.

The diagrams in FSM explain everything. Dirt, rotten food, and slime and out of spec weightwise occupants can create exotic problems

A good cleaning may help, but if the motor is actually stopping, yours could be on the way out. I have a set of seat motors if you need them -- let me know after you do some cleaning and light oiling of the seat hardware.

I may be intertrested (sp intentional) in one of those motors. I am having issues with my pax seat. The motor will run to recline the seat, but will only bring it back up about 30%. Obviously not good. I have yet to tear into the seat to do and diagnostics but as soon as it warms up I will.

Let me know what you want for the reclineometermotor.

PS Was it a beeotch to access? 3 or 4 beer job?

Thanks for getting back to me about the seat situation. I am interested in the motor you have. I removed the seat and looked at the botom, it looked like it will be a rough thing to replace, but I will give it a shot. Do you have any experience with these?

What are you asking for the motor?

This is a reply to both. I would prefer to sell all the motors together as a set. There are three motors in each seat base (one for forward/backward movement, one for front up and down and one for back up and down). I haven't looked under my current seat to see which motor controls the recline, so I am not going to guess and send the wrong one. I will sell the driver seat motor "set" for $35.00 shipped and the passenger motor set for the same price. Let me know if you also require any of the wiring since I have both seat frames available as well. Not to hijack this thread, but I also posted a complete set of heated seat parts and they are still available. Email me for the details.

Thanks,

Ted

Hi there:

If you still need the passenger seat motors, I still have them available. I just shipped out a set of driver seat motors today and the cheapest shipping ran me $12 due to the weight of the motors. I would be willing to sell you the passenger seat motors for $42.00 shipped and will help you with the install via email or over the phone if you like.

It is not bad once you unbolt the seat and unplug the wiring harness and side airbag plug. The passenger side has more room to tilt the seat backwards because there is no steering wheel in the way. I would say it should take you about an hour tops to replace the motors.

Let me know what you want to do. I can get them out to you once I receive a money order or bank check.

Thanks!

Ted

Did you get a resolution to your seat problem. I also have a 99 Q45. My drivers side recline is totally inoperative. I tested the wires to the motor (which is actually in the seat back) it is getting juice. I think the motor is bad. Had to remove the plastic seat back. it is only held on by some 4- 50 cent clips.

TFVesquire,

I'll take those motors if you still have them.
