95 s14 charginh problem please help

Hi I am new to this forum and also a new owner of a 95 s14. This is the problem I am having the charging system and speedo are not working after the 5 speed swap. Seeing as I don't have to much money left after buying the car I was hopping for a little help from hear because I can't put it in the shop. It was a auto and the guy who owned it said he would do the 5 speed swap for me for only 400 more. So I said yes he took the car home an a week later I drove back to NYC and looked at the car everything seemed good. Except the battery was dead. So I left it over night and went back the next day with a new battery only to find out then when I was driving it it wasn't charging. So I gave the guy a call he said it has to do with a lug that goes into the relay box he said he forgot to splice some wires. into one of the plugs. I am not comfortable enough with the car and my skills to start ripping into the system everything else works other then the spedo and the charging system I am hopping that someone on hear can shed some light on the dark day.
