While not an official Nissan Sport project car, this B14 has been undergoing plenty of work since last summer. At the NICO North American Nissan Convention it was the fastest RallyCross car on a admittedly soggy course set up in one corner of the paddock at MAM. Boston Cleek was behind the wheel that weekend, but had a problem starting it afterwards. Fortunately, it seemed to start and run fine the following day and we drove it back through from Omaha to Denver through a HUGE rainstorm.

Once back, it turned out the SR20DE cam position sensor was the problem and I ordered a new one from Nissan. Along with a fresh K&N air filter, oil/filter change and cleaning out the entire induction system (you wouldn't believe how much muck and mud got in there), the 200SX was much improved. I added a set of new NGK V-Powers at the end of the year to the equation and it runs great!

One thing that bothered me was the paint- this B14 has been a racecar from day one. It's earned more race wins (and contingency money) than just about any Nissan racecar out there and seen as much action as well. As the third owner, I noticed the paint was not the best quality and was more representative of Earl Schieb's bargain paint job. After it faded completely this past summer, I decided it was time.

I've found a good painter who works out of his garage and am having him repaint the entire B14 in factory paint (Ultra red). He's taken the better part of two weeks to disassemble, clean, prime and paint the car, but I'm looking forward to seeing the results! :bigthumb:

No such thing as coincidence on the cam position sensor huh? Glad you are getting all the bugs worked out and can't wait to see the paint job.

Thanks- certainly better than when it had cracked, peeling and fading paint. :frown:

Last time you saw it, there was mud all over it after winning the NA Nissan Convention's rallycross. I'd really like to see it back in road racing this year and will be putting it up for sale shortly. :)
