Z32 and Z33 tranny are pretty much bolt on with adapter plates. look around on the net I know Mazworks pretty much sell everything you need for a Z32 tranny. Also use the search bar for the forums theres tons of guys on here that posted they're builds.

Yeah there's quite a bit of work involved. I make adapter plates.. :)

Search for my thread on it, and there's another guy who did it although some things a little different than I did.

Yes, positively. Before the swap, I think the best I could get was about 21-22 on the highway, and with this setup I've seen 24-25 MPG.. Currently I get a little less, but I think it's because of an iffy injector and old o2 sensors... In about a month once it gets warmer I'll replace those things.

Wes do you have any adapter plates right now? I sort of put you off earlier this year because I had to spend some dosh on injectors but now my body is ready. How much and your paypal address. Car is on my lift and auto is on the ground as we speak.

In the process now of designing a bolt in clutch pedal bracket to run a wilwood/tilton swing pedal.

Sorry to thread jack... Is the neutral switch that's on the 300zx/G20/350Z Manual Transmissions a problem at all? From what I understand it controls the engine timing? I can't find much more information other than that. I am not sure if Nissan is the only auto manufacture that uses it. I doubt Toyota or GM uses these switches.

I just have mine bypassed so it thinks its in neutral all the time. Works fine, just have to remember not to start in gear.

No I am talking about the one mounted on the transmission not the clutch pedal.

My point is well...whats the point of it? Nissan wouldn't have one on there for no reason, Right?

Which is better to go with a Z32 non-turbo or turbo transmission? Internally they are the same, but the flywheels/clutches are different. Which one is easier for the swap? I am guessing it is easier to find a clutch to handle 500hp with turbo set ups?

There are plenty of heavy duty clutches for both the NA Z32 trans and the TT trans.

Wes will tell you go with the NA Z32 trans. I believe its an easier install too (starter location if I remember right?)...other than that they are almost identical transmissions.

I am guessing that NA Z32 missions lived an easier life in most cases too! I was looking at Courtesy Nissan and noticed they sell new missions. Is there any reason the 1996 Z32 mission is a different price (cheaper) than the 1990-1995 missions?

Actually the later ones shoudl be better, I believe in 94 they changed to better synchros. To my knowledge, they're not any different externally.

So the NA Z32 is easier to get to work with the starter? With both versions, do you have modify your pre-cat?

Yes you have to cut the pre-cats out, there's no way they'll fit around the Z32 starter. FWIW the Z32 starter is the same TT or NA

Wes are there any transmissions that are direct bolt on to the VH45DE? I know this has been asked before but I wonder if there is something new out there with the same bolt pattern.

Is the VH45DE alone when it comes to bellhousing bolt pattern?

Do people with high HP VH's have any issues with the adapter plate eg: snapping or cracking?

I've heard of some issues with the mazworx plate, but none with my plate that I know of (and I've had a few folks run big power).. The main issue is that Nissan trans don't have a removable bellhousing from the rest of the trans, the bellhousing is incorporated into the front half of the transmission which makes things difficult. There are other trans that have removable bellhousings, but then you'd need to looking at using a Frankenstein clutch/flywheel setup plus making a new bellhousing.

The VH45 is pretty much alone with the bolt pattern. Even most other Nissans use M10 bolts, not M14's like the VH45 does..

The only "bolt on" you could do is a TH400 trans using an adapter on the trans side of the bellhousing.
