I've been having this problem recently. If I start the car when engine is hot, it sputters a little bit and shuts off. I have to try at least a couple of more times to start it. Just for the hell of it, I cleaned up the throttle body and idle control valve and the problem is completely gone. It was really dirty as you can see. If you have a similar problem, do this and see. I just used a carb cleaner from Autozone.

****You must use a straw holder otherwise straw might fall into the manifold.

I just replaced my headlights. I've done a lot of research and turned out Cibie H4 lights are the best. There were several other options like IPF & Raybrig, but Cibie got the best review among all. These H4 lights were out of stock, so I had to wait about 2 months to get them. I bought them from here.

Top is OEM and bottom is Cibie.

Daniel Stern recommended these bulbs.

Spray painted the housing.

These were cheap, so I bought new retainer rings and screws.

Bulb installed.

This boot that came with the headlight must be installed. OEM boot on the car won't cover it securely.

OEM headlight...

Cibie with Philips bulb. I'm VERY pleased with this mod.

Looks fantastic (as usual for your mods). Were there any additional wiring requirements? So the total out of pocket was less than $200?

$163.08 for the Cibie housing and about $40+ shipped for the bulbs from here

To be honest with you, I thought it was bit too much, but not I think it's worth every penny.

It's C-West headlight cover. There are other kinds out there, but it looks the best IMO.
I got it like 12 years ago, so I don't remember where I got it. This place has it though.

I just installed Odyssey PC680 battery. Man, I love this thing. My car feels lighter. I bought this seller on eBay. With the terminals, I couldn't find cheaper place.

I bought this battery cutoff switch as well. It's a quality part from Englad. You can buy cheap Chinese knock-off on eBay too.

so that battery switch allows you to disconnect batt without a wrench, right?

Kinda cool. The build is great so far, keep it up.

That is correct. You just turn the knob a little bit and battery is disconnected. I drained my battery so many times while I was working on my car.

Sorry, cmkelly. I just want to work on something on my car and that is all. :gapteeth:

I ran into a thread about oil filter relocation kit in 240 gen chat, so decided to get one since it was about time for oil change. Everything went fine and oh boy, no more messy oil change and easy access to the filter. I love it.

You know when I was young, my dream car was a convertible with popups and rear wheel drive. I think last popup was on mid 90's Corvette and no more production cars with popups after that.

For that kit, does the adapter just screw onto the existing oil filter threads? I really need a relocation on my Coupe as my oil lines/etc from the turbo have made the filter very hard to get in/out.

You mentioned you got lines from Lowes? Which ones? I'd worry about them busting.

Also wonder how much more oil it'd need.

Let me know if you run into any issues. I may be getting one by the summer.

Yes, it bolts up right in.

Black heater hose. There's only one kind, so you won't miss it. It's in plumbing section.
biggie wrote:Also wonder how much more oil it'd need.
Just a little bit more. You can add more as you check the level. I just pour some to the adptor(filter side) and filled up the hoses.
biggie wrote:Let me know if you run into any issues. I may be getting one by the summer.
Sure, I'll do that.

BTW, no issues with the battery so far. I just love the battery and the kill switch.

A heads up, found out those heater hoses will dry rot and can't hold up to the oil for too long. May want to swap them out sometime soon.

I ended up with 5/8 power steering lines from car parts store, about $3 a foot.

Got the power steering hose from NAPA. IT's 3 ft and paid $15. It's a little more, but comes with lifetime warranty. I'm going to swap it out this weekend. Again, thanks!!

No problem. I was happy that I took my Coupe for a drive and nothing on the oil filter relocation leaked.

Need to do it on my Vert sometime now.

My original steering wheel is in pretty good condition, but I can tell leather is going bad slowly.
I got this from a junkyard very cheap(like $10), so decided to try something different.

It's a real carbon wrap. It came out very nice and grip feels amazing when I'm driving. It's been sprayed with special clear coat for UV protection, so it should last for a long time. It was way less than buying a new one from dealership and less than re-wrap with leather. This could be the only one in the world.

I finally took care of alignment, and it drives like a dream now. Can't stop speeding.

Go see Dwayne at Affordable Auto in Hampton, RJ. He does great work at reasonable prices. I'm getting ready to shuffle my vert over there to fix some rust issues.
