I've searched everywhere and can't find anything on this. I need to know how to remove and replace the power steering rack.. The vehical is on a lift.. 1993 infiniti q45 base..

Not sure there is a specific concern? Undo the tie rod ends (either at the knuckle, or count turns if you want to keep some semblance of toe when you reassemble), undo the steering shaft (mark it), maybe an electrical connector, undo the hydraulic lines, undo the 4 bolts that hold the rack in (2x2 u-shaped clamps)......

would that be a "travelin javelin" (390)?

It doesn't just pull out though. I've unbolted the clamps.. There's little to no wiggle room. Would I have to drop the sub frame a little? Do I need to undo motor mounts and have the motor held in place? This is my first time replacing a rack. Javelins a 401

Yes on subframe.
good idea to loosen motor mounts and support the engine.
