I'm the proud new owner of an 84 720 2wd. Have some basic questions. I want to keep this project low budget -static drop, wheels, tires, paint. I'm having trouble finding aftermarket wheels. Is the six lug bolt pattern the same as the hardbodies? Up to what year? Any other make and models have the same pattern? What is the pattern dimensions? anyone have some nice used wheels they want to unload?

bolt pattern is 6x5.5"

same as hardbodys and titans and chevy trucks as well... but in most cases, those wheels need the center bore to be bigger in order to fit.

american racing makes plenty of this sized pattern though. that's what i would get if i were you

Isuzu alloy rims should also work.

I got a set of Z71 wheels that are gonna look epic on my dropped 84, but I got a couple issues...First, finding someone to bore out the centers in upstate SC, and second finding some lugnuts that are M12 X 1.25 with a wider taper so they don't fall down in into the Z71 wheels. Any ideas on either of these issues would be great...along with insight on any issues I might not be seeing....thanks guys!

pretty sure those lugs can be found. I remember some datsuns had odd tapered lugs.

A Machine shop has to be able to bore out the centers. Find a couple near you and call them and propse what you want and if someone will, then check out their shop in person and look at other work and make sure they won't sit on your order for ever and that they do real work. The machine shop I've used is amazing, so I keep going back to them.

k....I got to thinkin...I'm not much of an out~sourcer...I believe where there's a will...there's a way. So I decide to utilize google and youtube...I wanna give this a go on my own. What better way to get rid of aluminum than something spinning at extremely high speeds that's very very sharp? Nothing I can think of, so I decide that the guys on youtube using a router are my kinda guys! So with a borrowed router and the same bit that they use, I commence to using a tool of brutal destruction for the first time...it was fun and the Chevy rims now fit like a glove...any questions, feel free to shoot me an email and I can tell u exactly how I did it...lots of fun and looke extremely professional!
