went to a shop the other day to see if i could put a vg30dett and they said it couldnt fit. but after seeing this swap im kinda second guessing them.

Anything can fit I believe. Just may take a little more fab. I think I am going to cut the hood and put a cowl in it for more room.

Looks good. I know someone who's doing a V6 swap also. Not sure what engine it is but I'll try to get him to document it.

There are a few threads about VG30DETT swapped Hardbody trucks on this site (one is a 4WD and, the other one has custom airbag suspension if I remember correctly). It didn't look like a simple swap even though the engine is shorter than a RB, but you can search for the threads. The 4wd one should be in this last month of General chat, and the other one is in the trucks forum from a few years back.

By my math, if you can successfully find these threads, I will consider you 10% qualified for doing the actual swap, the other 95% is up to you.

So I scrapped the VG30 Motor and transmission,

I sent the truck to the paint shop to have it repainted and looking like new. I picked up a new motor and transmission for it out of an 03 Xterra. So now it has the VG33ER with auto trans.

Here are a few photos of the truck out of the paint booth. The new motor is not in yet.

Just stock boost. I am far from it running still.

so its been a few years since touching the truck due to medical reasons.

I am starting back at it again and over the next year will be having it up and running with an SR20DET. Right now I`m looking at ways to upgrade the current suspension components without going IFS.
