I'm going to purchase a used set of 5Zigen Typhoons from someone who's taking them off his S14. They're 17x8, 4x114.3 + 35mm offset and wrapped w/ 235/45/17 Dunlops at all 4 corners. I'm going to put them on my S13 just wondering if 17x8 w/ 235 tires would be too wide for the front of a S13? Also does anyone know if these wheels clear the Z brakes upgrades? Thanks in advance.

no, they should fit fine, but you may have to use a spacer, I dont think you will with stock shocks, but you probably will for coilovers.

also, you never know if it will clear Z brakes until you try, most 17" are fine, but sometimes the "spoke" type hits the callipers and things.-chet

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but I was going to buy a set of these wheels. I was thinking about 17 x 7.5 (40 offset) in front and 17 x 8 (35 offset) in the rear. What size tires should I use, and what are the widest tires I can fit in the rear? Would they hit the fender if I lowered it (probably eibach prokit or whiteline so no more than 2 inches)?

Also, no one has tried these with z brakes?

I guess these are the common choice for a couple of us with 4 lugs. I am planning on getting a set of these also. I'll be getting 17x8 with 225 in the front and 17x9 with 245s in the rear for my S13. I'm guessing they'll fit fine, right Exar?

BTW does anyone have pics of an S13 with them on?

I tried to fit a set of 17x8 with a 35 offset and the edge of the rim was 2mm away from my coilover. I'm going to try to get it in a lower offset. I think they make it in a 27, that would give you an extra 8mm for your tire clearance.

Where did you find these in 17x9 in the 4 lug pattern? I was looking for 17x9 for the rear, but I never found them. Thanks. BTW, the Z brakes do clear these wheels pretty well.

Z brakes worked fine on 17x8 43+ offset. Was very close to the wheel. I have since but on 15mm spacers. Much much better!!!

17x8s seem a tad wide for 225s. on SCCs project silvia they ran 17x7.5s with 225/4517s all around with Z brakes with the brembo GT fronts. according to them 38mm offset 17x7.5s will fit just fine. i dont know about 8s. just push the offset out a little more would probably make em fit
