This way over square engine would be fantastic in our cars. Bore to Stroke ratio (4 to 3) is like the TransAm Fords and Chevys of the 60's.

Very interesting, that thing probably sounds mean at 7500 RPM.. :)

Actually, the rules limit it to that as most of the other engines are pushrod actuated OHV. I bet it is good for 8500 RPM easily.

Static CR is 10:1, so quite low. Pull a little timing for street gas and with the extra RPM, I bet power doesn't drop much at all. The headers might be a problem.

Interestingly enough, the AMG SLS runnin in the GT Series had catalytic converters (small) and mufflers just behind the exhaust behind the front wheels. I didn't get to look at the MB E63 car to see how the engine was crippled for the V8 Supercar Series. I presume is is destroked to 5 liters also.
