But these at Walmart in the marine / RV section for $4.99. They have a peel off adhesive on the back to mount where u want inside the map light. Strip the red and black wires a good 1 1/2 inches and the black goes in a tiny hole and twist with the smallest needle nose pliers you have, and the red you loop around the bracket shown in my pics.

?? The benefit is that it takes 45 secs and u dont have to take anything apart, and yes they are the same white as all the other LEDs I've bought from amazon matches perfect

For those of us who have transitioned all of our bulbs to LEDs, your two guesses are correct. More lumens and whiter light. Also, in my case, the LED replacements I purchased from Vleds did not fit as securely as the OEM bulbs and the passenger side of the map light would work only when it wanted to. Using this method was the only solution.

I went with an entire kit (picked up from eBay) the seller is from So Cal and has done a lot of good work on modified interiors so I was referred to his product. the entire kit comes with the Map light replacement and it's plug and play - very bright output. I think I installed this back in August of last year and all the lights are still working 100%. I'll need to take some pix....

Thanks CPJ LB! I ordered the LED lights from same seller today, you made it easy for me to decide with who to go with.

I got some Ba9s leds for the dome...they fit but wouldn't work. I tried switching polarity, still nothing. Is there something I'm missing or is the OP's method the only way?

Just replaced my domes with BA9S from VLEDS and they work great.

I replaced an older LED light that consisted of the base of the BA9S that powered a panel of 16 LED's. The panel plugged into the base via a tiny plug. It worked but I always thought it was kinda wonky.

I have spent so much money buying ebay LED's in the past... I am always leary, and don't ever know which product is the best!
