Hi all,
This is my first post over here,
I’d like to thanks you all for your support and topics, I was watching all this from some time but today I thought I will be one of your members and hope to be active member.

Today I like to know if anyone has transfer QX56 from 4WD to 2WD. I have done this by pulling the 4WD fuse and the car should be off and when you start the car it will be 2WD and enjoy it :naughty: .

And to bring it back to 4WD just witch the car off and put the fuse back and all things will be fine.

Now does anyone can help on make it more practical and provide switch to select 2WD and 4WD mode.
I have gone through service manual and seen there is transfer actuator which will be responsible for the 2WD and 4WD mode.

But I’m not fully compatible with the wiring and control system.

Your replay is appreciated and thanks in advance.

You don't have a 2wd mode on your switch/dial?

Your 2WD/4WD switch should have 4 settings: 2WD, Auto, 4HI, and 4LO (in that order, left to right). You should not be messing with the fuses to get the setting to change from 4WD to 2WD. Something is definitely wrong if you have to do this to get the drive selected. Post a photo of your 4WD switch if you could.

Wow, I guessed I never looked that closely at a QX56!

I am a bit shocked that with all the dealers in the Chicago area that you ended up purchasing from Zimbrick. Don't get the wrong idea, they are a great dealer, I am just blown away they got a Chicago sale, good for them!

I searched for 2 months for the perfect one with every Northern Illinois dealer searching for my specific vehicle. I was looking for White or Black, Wheel & Tire Package, Black Interior and most importantly the bench seat in the center for my three kids so we don't have to use the third row every time. Found a few but almost every one had the bucket center row seating. Almost gave up hope giving in to the bucket center row until I found this one online at Zimbrick and bought it. That's the only reason I drove north.

Well that is awesome, I am glad you found it. I personally find the bench much more useful. I had an '04 QX56 with the Captains, and then an '08 and 2010 Armada with the solid bench, and bench is totally more useful!

I agree, I have a Tahoe LTZ with the buckets too and it's a P.I.A.
