Wow! Very nice man! Looks like you have everything in order. Don't forget to use lots... LOTS of engine assembly lube on all those nifty little parts :) Torque specs torque wrench and more torque specs. And ya, air tools are much easier than a dremel for grinding out the plenum inlets. I used a dremel for mine and it was a pain.

If all you have to grind is the bridge for the #1 injector, the dremel cutting attachment is perfect, and takes like 10 min tops.

Air tools can take a lot away very quickly, so you have to be very careful and steady. IME, a dremel is more forgiving.

Im shooting for the middle of september to be done running 15lbs (by done I mean including the 1000 mile breakin period)!!!!!! But it all depends on the machine shop...

I feel my dad and I can build the motor 2 hours after each work day for about 7 days and be done... But IDK I have never built a motor much less built a VG so we will have to see.... How long has it taken yall to reassemble the motor???

Once the motor is reassembled then ill put the turbos, manifolds, down pipes, clutch, flywheel, intakes, injectors, fuel rail, ect all on the motor and when that is done it will be time for the install :)

Me and my buddy, 43 hours straight (that's no sleep) from bare block to fully assembled, everything bolted on (including clutch and FW) ready to drop in. We took a few prolonged (like 30 min) breaks but that's about it.

43 hours, yeah from bare wrapped in plastic from the machine shop block to fully assembled and timed, ready to install. Heads were never taken apart so unless your machine shop is assembling them you need to add some time for that.

Now THAT is how you build. Couple of notes:

- Do a wastegate balance test before installation. It's simple to do and very worthwhile.
- IMHO, get one of these bolts for the Koyo. The black plastic bleeder will break and leave you stranded. Titanium will not corrode to the AL like steel will. You could also get an AL bolt if you find it in that size.

By AL i think he means aluminum.

You can get an aluminum bolt for your aluminum radiator, or get the one tha the posted. The black plastic bolt on radiators could erode or wear away, leaving your motor pissing hot coolant like its got aids!

*edit* heres why you want to replace it:

Yes, AL = Aluminum. Steel and stainless are no good because of galvanic corrosion. It's not the draincock (lol...c***), it's the plastic bleeder screw opposite the filler neck. It will crack over time.
300ZXttZMAN wrote:Oh also im thinking about gettin solid radiator pipes
A lower hard pipe is a good move, the upper pipe is fine with silicone. Be sure your elbows are silicone for the hardpipe.

wow man, very sweet. im going to be doing the exact same thing minus the build and the upgraded IC piping, at least to start with as soon as i muster up enough will to spend the dough. im wondering what kind of juice you are going to be putting down? im thinking 535whp at 18psi.

some good comparisons:
http://ztuner.com/keefervstonyvsztuner.htm
http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/f ... -more.html
you have 2.5'' ic pipings and ic's, the selin pack, (3'' exhaust?), (msp manifolds?), ferrea valves 1mm+
i think 500rwhp+ is a reasonable goal
