which one is a better car? I already know that the 300zx is faster than 350z stock. But what car has more protenial? with stock internals?

Thats crazy, I was wondering to hear peoples opinions on this too. I was just about to post this.

the 300zx I believe would make more power on stock internals, however, the 350z weighs less.

Stock for stock which one would *theoretically* be faster at tsukuba circuit?

350 should own that ***, less weight, better brakes, same power, 6 speed vs.5, and more grip.

Last I checked the 350z could make 450 whp at 7-9 lbs of boost with either a blower or a turbo.

A 300zx can be made to a higher power cheaper only because they are older and don't cost as much.

They're not faster stock, and hoenstly, both motors wills tart needing interal work when you hit 400+whp. Just like most any product engine not displacing over 4l and not costing a bucket ton of cash...

I've seen respectable number from both. 730rwhp Vq and a 700hp VG...*shrug*

having driven both..I like the VQ.

Greg Dupree used a JSPEC engine and ran in the low 10's that somewhere around 600+ hp on stock internals..Z1 in Georgia has done several Z32's with 700+ hp with stock internals.

Personally, from what I know and believe the Z32 should have forged pistons if your going above 500 hp. Since it already has a forged crank and rods , just have them spot-peening or cyrogentic process done to them.

I've ran stock and hybrid turbos along with the mods to get it there.. from 380rwhp to 480rwhpSuprizingly quick.. I also ran a Camero and Nova in the 70's that ran in the 10's and 11's with those just getting untracked was the problem. With the Z it comes out alot less torque then comes on really hard.

you can go to 650 LBFT and about 590HP on stock internals before bending rods. Rods are the weakest link in the VQ. and that is as long as you have a good tune. a bad tune will never get you near that mark

kinda a vague open ended question stock the TT and the Z33 are pretty much even, but the n/a power of the Z33 is much better down low, it's a lot easier to get the TT up to say 400 whp than the z33, as it's bacic bolt ons, to get the Z33 up there you have to add the forced induction, so at taht level the z32 is much cheaper to mod, once you start adding forced industion to the Z33 or upsizing turbo's on the Z32 the sky is the limit, they are both great cars, if you want less outlay now, the TT can be had for significantly less, and leaves you room to buy all the bolt ons to get you to 400 whp and still have money left over compared to a Z33, the Z32 also has better internals, at least for forced induction, you can get more power out of a stock Z32 bottom end than the Z33, but your dealing with 11-17 year old parts, the z33 is still only 4 years old for the oldest ones, this will equate to lower miles, less abuse, better paint and interior
