Does anyone know if the z32 (300zx TT) manual transmission will bolt up to the ka24de engine? The reason I am asking is cause I just got rid of my TT and have all sorts of parts. Coincidentally my 5 spd in the 240 went up-lost reverse and can't really find the gears with ease anymore. I heard something before about a swap being possible. I check the FAQ but were not really helpful and I checked some of the previous threads but did not find a whole lot on what I need for my application. If anyone could help would be nice. Thanks for any input or info you can give. <----------Thats awesome!

I am planning on doing the same thing. I asked a few people and i heard that the trany does bolt right up to the KA engine but to plug the tranny in to the wiring requires alittle splicing.

I guess my main questions are these. Can I use the same driveshaft off the 240sx or will I need to modify it all? Are the transmission shafts the same (thickness, spline etc.)? What will I need to do a complete swap and if possible what will I need to do to make this work? I am hoping to do it this weekend if possible.

also I am not really worried about the wiring. I changed from the auto to a 5 spd and just clicked the switch to the park position to start the car. I then taped it up and hid it. I have no wiring to the 5 spd now. But the transmission is now bad and I have a 300zx TT transmission I would like to use. Just not sure what is needed to complete the job from start to finish.

no it will not bolt up. you will need to have the bellhousing machined and welded to make it fit.

PS don't bump your damn thread every couple hours.

Ok. But I don't understand why you are getting mad b/c I was responding to my OWN thread? How is that affecting your life enough to use foul language at me? That was completely unnecessary. All you have to do is just respond with an answer. No reason to get mad. And for your information I did do my research. 2 days worth and found nothing helpful. I also gave all the info on this thread and what I was looking for. Take a deep breathe and relax. Life is too short to get mad and tense my friend. Thank you for the info though. I am always grateful for guys like you who know these things. Since I can't do all that, is there another transmission I might be able to use that would be the same or a better upgrade? I have a 1992 240sx (converted from auto to the 5 spd) with a ka24de engine. Can I use a 1995+ 5 spd from a 240sx with a ka24de engine or are those transmissions different?

What is the difference in years? There is a 5-spd transmission at a local junk yard from a 1995. Mine is a 1992. The book shows 1989-1993 then has a different part number for 1994-1998. I guess my question is this...whats the difference? Is it geared different or is it something major like what side a starter is on? I just don't know. I need to do this within the next day or two so any help will be very appreciated.
