Hey guys, haven't posted in a while, but here we go:

I installed my "BBK" yesterday. It was a long process all in all, but I finally got it done. When I first got the brakes, they were just painted with some red high temp color. The brakes were leaking and the brake fluid ate a way the paint all around the pistons. I put it on just for test fitting, and it turned out that the rotors were rubbing too. So I had the rotors milled down and the calipers powdercoated, and then I rebuilt them. Rebuilding was really easy and putting everything together was not hard at all. I also had the inner part of the rotors powdercoated. I just wanted the hub, but I guess they went into a coating frenzy and powdercoated the backside of the hub, the hub and the entire insides of the rotors lol. I paid $160 all in all for all powdercoating. The also powdercoated the dog bone brackets, so I think I got a decent deal out of it

Brake pads are Hawks HPS

Impressions so far: The pedal feels mushier than the stock brakes. I had to wait until night, took the car to an empty highway outside of the city and followed the bedding in procedures. Still they grip slow at first, and it seems once they build up pressure they brake better. Also I could not get my wheels to lock up, so my plan is to drive around for a week and then rebleed them.

Now pictures:

Oh and off topic. But while I was doing the brakes I found both boots of the CV joints ripped apart and you could see the grease. No popping or clanking noises tho. Can I just replace the boots?

looks great. As for the boots. I think you need to replace the whole axle because I'm pretty sure its all one piece, ie boots aren't sold separately.

Looks good.Mind if I hijack your thread a bit to ask how you like those General Exclaims?

nice job but since the brake feels spongy they do need to be bled - get a helper for that.

as for the cv boots - they can be replaced without doing the whole axle, some people say it's better to do the whole axle though - up to you how much money you have/want to spend.

Yeah I have to change the rear brake pads next week anyways, and I will bleed all 4s again.

The Exclaim UHP run well I think. I don't really have much to compare too, but I researched some and they had the best tread rating in it's class. I also got them for $96 a pop so not much too complain about.

The tread pattern is nice and aggressive looking too, don't know if I will change. Generals are made by Conti, and I don't really like Asian or American brands. If i could afford it I would put some Contis or the Michelin on there.

VERY NICE!!

your brake is spongy b/c you have air in your system, bleed all four corners and watch for sputtering as the fluid comes out and you will have found your "spongy" problem!

So I finally got around to re-bleed all my brakes. A bunch of air came out. We frequently started the car to get a pedal feel and surprisingly more air came out afterwards. I also changed my rear pads to axxis ultimate. Even tho I didn't break them in yet, the pedal feels so much better. Wheels lock up and engage ABS as well. I don't think it ever did with the stockers. I'm very happy with the results.
