Just finished reading the article. They mostly covered the Eau Rouge and RC F and more text was spent on the RC F. It was a bit odd that they got the years wrong on the Q45 change-over and called it more Buick then BMW. While there was a difference, let's look at available Buick's of the year.
Buick Regal LS with 6 cylinder OHV engine pushing out 195HP,
Buick Park Ave Ultra 6 cylinder OHV turbo engine pushing out 205 HP
Infiniti Q45 V8 266 HP
I would say more Lexus LS400 like than Buick like...I drove the 1996 back to back with the 1997 back in 2000 and felt that the '97 was a little more "tossable" and had a little more off the line. I know you 1st gen guys will jump on me, but come on I am not comparing to a 92' Q45 that I had 6 personal months with, that was a beast, but the 97' was reliable as hell, STILL looks great, and overall did everything well. Put some KYB SR Specials on it and any reference to Buick part is gone. Plus the Buick suspensions, while the 97' was back to struts front, it still has a strut brace bar and a good setup that can easily be beefed up, versus Buick that had horse-crap airglide that are replaced by Monroe's at Pep Boys by grandpa.
They got that part wrong and couldn't even come up with the correct year. Letter to the editor going out, we'll see if I make it in print.
