it will bolt up to the engine.

but it is longer.

shifter will be pushed back, and driveshaft will have to be shorter.

Whenever you do have both transmissions out and next to each other measure them and take a picture. I really want to get a together sticky and find all the similarities between z24 and ka24. If I ever get a third car I will go to town but not until then.

There's very few similarities, IMO between z24 and ka24. They share the same bore and stroke, and similar cam configuration.

The z24 has:an l-series style oil panlarge oil passages in the blockdouble row chainadjustable valves(no lifters)8 valves onlyoval exhaust ports8 spark plugssmaller oil pump

KA24e features:a unique oil pansame oil pump as the l28et(auto)single row timing chainhydraulic lifters12 valves4 spark plugsround exhaust ports

Also, to answer the above question the 240sx transmission will bolt up but you will have to use the 240sx starter. The bolts thread into the starter on the 240sx and into the transmission on the HB. peace.

if by exhaust manifolds yes but it will bolt up to your engine. Just maybe not up to your exhaust. The napz has oval ports and the ka's have round ports, but the bolt patterns are the same. peace.

keeping with the theme of this thread, im wondering about bellhousing pattern on the FWD altima KA24DE blocks vs the RWD car and truck blocks? im new to nissan and looking at making some adapters to other trannies. im told rotation is the same on all of them. what about starter location, flywheel thickness and so forth?

could the FWD and RWD engines be interchanged between their respective transmission out of the car and on the bench? engine compartment constraints not being considered.

This question also seems relevant here:

Is there any difference in the "yoke" for a s13 240sx driveshaft and the "yoke" for a 1993 Hardbody??

(I know the RB20's transmission will work with the s13 240sx driveshaft, but I need to make sure the RB20 transmission is also going to fit the "yoke" on the Hardbody driveshaft)

Almost identical motors and transmissions in the s13 and hardbody...someone please tell me if the "yokes" are the same??

I don't have my 240sx driveshaft in I could measure it

Do you want over all length or minus the part that sits in the trans?

the transmissions are not almost identical, the truck one is way shorter.

the truck shaft will slide into the rb20 trans, but it doesnt matter, the driveshaft will be way to long.
