I just purchased a 2013 G37xS. I want to put on a performance cold air intake. I'm looking for some extra horsepower as well as a nice deep sound. Does anyone have any suggestions. I was also wondering if anyone has heard of a good performance tune for this motor.

Thanks,
Shane

A very sought after intake is made by R2C. Uprev will be your best tuning option, but supporting mods would be suggested or it would be a waste of time.

R2C intakes are nice and easy to install as well: http://www.infinitig37.com/r2c-intake-install.html

I will put in a :mike for the R2C. It gives the engine a little meatier sound, and the mpg's at cruising altitude are actually a little better than stock. Here's a shot of mine after installing it.

Stillen Gen 3 supposedly has the highest hp gains. It's much more difficult to install and it's difficult to access the filters for maintenance.

So after all my research I ended up going with the K & N CAI. I love the deep sound and am very happy with it. I'm gonna go with the UpRev tune but am wondering if first it worth getting some high flow cats. Can someone let me know if HFC's are worth the time and money???

Thanks,
Shane

I installed the Stillen Gen 3 Intake, and Stillen High Flow Cats.
The CAT's are well worth it, and have a really nice sound.
The drivers side is a bit of a pain to install, because the steering linkage is in the way, and it's pretty hard to get to.
But, I still says it's well worth it.
I also installed the ARK GRip Cat Back Exhaust. It is really awsome looking, sounding, and added alot of power.

I ordered up the Stillen HFC's and Stillen Cat Back Exhaust. I have also orderd and received the Uprev Tune. When it's all installed I'll post my results. Looking forward to some good HP gains.

So it's installed and I love the sound. The wife thinks its to loud but I love it. There is a little tinny rattel when I rev it up but apparentetly that will go away. Im not really impressed with the performance. I was expecting to see more out of the hole. It feels not much better then factory. from 100km and up its definitetly faster. I also have th
e Uprev tune and also didn't see a big difference there.
Any suggestions on how to get some more poweer out of the hole. I'd like my 0 to 60 time to be under 5 seconds. Maybe mid 4's. Thanks

After the uprev you should let the engine adjust/learn. You can spend thousands on upgrades for performance but if you want anything REALLY noticeable then I'd suggest investing in SC or TT.

Learning does not take long and if you have not noticed anything after a couple hundred miles then you may not notice anything via the butt-dyno anyway. With Uprev I suggest a custom tune if possible. Granted, I'd wait until you have done exhaust upgrades. The motor is an air pump so the more you get in the more you want to get out.

I have the "tinney" rattle in my exhaust aswell. Mine hasn't gone away.
The shop that installed the exhaust said it was a Stillen thing.
Let me know if yours goes away.
Would really like to hear the results of the tune.

What do you guys think the quietest aftermarket intake system would be?
I just bought my 2012 G37x AT sedan. It is way too quiet lol

As a bit of background info, I had a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S with a Fujita Short RAM intake + a STILLEN cat back exhaust. I loved the exhaust but thought, as i started getting older, that the Fujita intake sound was too invasive inside the cabin.

So....again, I want performance + a less-noisy option. HELP!?
