Hi,

Sorry if this question has already been asked. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything related.

I just purchased a 12' Nissan Rogue w/ the Special Edition package.

The audio system was upgraded to the "premium sound system with a 4.3" color display and rear view monitor"... My question is this...

What are the stats for this audio system?

-Watts per speaker
-Max power output
-What kind of OEM speakers did Nissan use in the doors? (I only have 4)

I have searched the web and forums and cannot find anything regarding this info. I want to buy better speakers for the doors, but I don't really know what to replace the OEM ones with. I like the head unit, so that will stay, but the factory speakers can't really handle much bass. Any feedback or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same question about how to upgrade the audio system. I guess you have the basic S version of your 2012 Rogue. It only 4 speakers which is bothering me, I believe if it can add to 6 speakers will definitely improve the sound. I went to Bestbuy, they said I have to install a brand new audio system in order to put addition speakers. I am wondering if there is any easier way.

2011 and newer models have been slightly upgraded. Now tweeters under windshield are standard on all models. Aince you mentioned lcd screen in your headunit that means you have 8 bose speakers. 2 under windshield 4 in doors 1 in center above headunit and subwoofer in the trunk. I dont think anyone opened their doors for speakers in 2012 model for wattage check. We were talking over here about upgrading regular non-bose to bose but all speakers are controlled by amp. Most likely you will have to upgrade the unit as well because of that issue. Thats not going to be an easy swap of speakers in your case. My recommendation is to call proffessionals like crutchfield store and talk to them what options you can get.

From the Bose website:
Q. Can I get a list of technical specifications?
A. No, because our custom-engineered, complete system solutions largely supersede conventional audio measurements. Even some basic building blocks have been redefined—including amplifiers, speakers and equalizers. But most importantly, our integrated systems deliver results significantly different from those of conventional systems with individual, unmatched components. With a Bose automotive sound system, the location and design of the speakers can be much more important factors in determining output than a wattage power rating. The bottom line? The best way to test a Bose system's sound quality is to use your ears, not a list of specifications.

Hmm, Smoke and mirrors comes to mind. :bs:

Not all models with the 4.3" LCD screen come with the Bose speakers - I have the LCD screen but didn't opt for the Bose speaker upgrade. This is at least for 2011...

No, for 2012 Rogue, Bose system is only for SL version. S or S with special package version only have 4 speakers without tweeters. My question is can I add the tweeters without change the original radio?

Thanks.

I've been looking for the same information about the "Premium" stereo in the 2012 Rogue S with the special edition package. I think the stereo sounds pretty hollow, and I have been debating switching out the speakers, and maybe even the head unit. I've seen conflicting reports on the speaker sizes, can anybody confirm the speaker sizes for the front and rear? Will 6x9's fit without modifications?

Just wait my friend...after 12-13 months you will start using your sound system to mask the click noise coming from the rear brake or the groaning noise from the moonroof rubber seals...just wait...

Checked everywhere, there seems no 6x9 will fit without modification, you have to cut the opening on door panel little bit. I will upgrade the front speakers with JBL this week. Will keep you posted.

Is that rear brake noise so much? Scaring. I recently found sometime there is a click sound from the dashboard on driver side. Is that normal? It didnt come all the time but sometime.

I don't exactly see which speaker finally installed without modification. Please advise. THanks.
