I thought I would check over here with the experts....I have a leak which drips from the cast piece right below where the drive shaft goes into the rear pumpkin. I have done the Google foo searching and the 'other' sights have members with similar experience. Before I get too far in let me say it is not the rear diff fluid nor is it the yellow silicon type fluid from the rear diff bushings everyone seems to get. This is black and everyone (including a stealership guy) is saying it is the lube/grease from the CV joints in the axles breaking down. She only has 17K miles on the clock...shouldn't be leaking anything!

Any thoughts from you guys?

A 2012 with 17K is still under warranty. There is no way any grease should be breaking down at that mileage and time.

The only thing I can think of is that someone may have put too much grease into it during a regular maintenance. I've never had an issue with my coupe nor my old '07 G35 and current Q50...assuming it really is that type of grease.
