Unfortunately I can't help you with telling you what it's like to drive the QX on a day to day basis since mine hasn't arrived yet.

I am thinking about getting the LED DRL that go near the fog lights, they look kind of cool. I'm also planning to put a clear bra on it. At some point I'll buy rubber mats but that's really about it. These cars come pretty well decked out and I don't want to put anything on it to hurt their already stylish appearance.

Welcome to NICOclub Soprano64! Glad to have you here in the QX56 Forum! I totally suggest doing the mod so you can watch movies on the front nav screen. This also allows you to have full input on the nav screen while driving. Great for the passenger to input info if you need to program a new destination on the fly.

Sounds like you have the best of the best with the new ride. Enjoy it!

How difficult is the modification to make the front nav screen run movies on the 2011 QX56 compared to the previous models?

It is the same, no more difficult, no easier though either. Fairly simple mod though, well worth the couple of hours. Nice thing about both the Armada and the QX56 is you have a lot of room to work with, it sucks doing this mod on a G37, but there is a lot less room to work with on the G.

Timmbo - Is there a simple set of detailed instructions on how to do the mod without having to read through that sticky thread, which is now about 8 pages long?

Yes, here is the short and skinny............pull out AV unit, using the service manual we have here on NICOclub, install a DPDT switch that will break the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) wire and the Parking Brake wire, both at the back of the AV unit.

Let me know what questions you have, that is as brief as I can make it.

Thanks. I'll read through the long thread. I don't know what a DPDT switch is or how to install it so I'll just take the time and read the entire thread.

It is a switch. Double Pole, Double Throw. Read up on Wikipedia. If you know how to solder a wire in 6 places to a switch and use wire connectors, this mod is a piece of cake.
