2011 G25X has a lot more sunroof wind noise than any of my previous cars (non-Infinti/Nissan). The aluminum, pop-up air deflector makes a racket at 30-40+mph. If I reach up and push the deflector down with the sunroof open the noise becomes substantially less. A couple of questions:

Has anyone removed this air deflector all together? Is it possible?

I see some Gs have an air deflector that is segmented, stepped up and down. I am pretty sure the Q50 loaner I had the other day had a segmented one also. Does this help with the noise? Will a newer G air deflector fit my car?

I've actually not even opened the sunroof on my Q so I don't know if it's different. I've seen add-on plastic deflectors but don't know how they last.
