Yep, this is exactly right.
If you want a brand new car with a warranty and you don't want an Aveo, this is a good bet.
And I agree with Jesda, it's nice to see someone selling a "stripper" car in the US again, as I definitely think there's a market for it.
Also though, with the new vs. used argument, if someone is financing the car, you can often get much better rates on a new car from the manufacturer than on a used car, and so sometimes the more expensive new car works out to a lower monthly payment over the same term than a somewhat cheaper used car. For many buyers, the monthly obligation is more important to them than the actual price of the vehicle.
Now if only they'd sell a "stripper" NC Miata for $15k, lol.
