Good evening everyone, I was wondering if there was anyone else out there that has had a problem with the radiator on their M. I am rapidly approaching the end of my new vehicle warranty and I started to notice a sweet coolant smell at the front of the car when it was hot. After looking into it further I found it to be a bit low on coolant. I also found green scale along the whole top seam of the radiator where it appears that the top is pressed onto the core. The dealer told me that it was a leaking upper radiator hose and had to order one. After installing it a few days ago I still smell the coolant smell and the seam appears to still be wet. The service advisor told me that the coolant that leaked out during the hose change needed to "burn off" and that it would be fine. now 100 plus miles and one big rain storm later the smell is still just as bad as before. Does anyone have any wisdom they would like to share?? Mike

The less-than-posative side of my brain says it can't be the radiator itself coz the dealer would have jumped at the chance to charge you for a new one. However, if you're still under warranty, and IF the radiator is still covered, they may be trying to stall for time until it becomes your repair instead of theirs. Best thing to do is keep going back (tho that is a pain) so it''s well documented with the dealer the leak started under warranty. Either that or maybe go to a different Infiniti dealer if there is one in your area and see what they do.

Here's some wisdom. Get a new dealer. Sounds like he is just trying to run your warranty out. The radiator is defective. Make them give you a new one before you have to pay for it. If it's leaking it's leaking, not too hard to diagnose. I hate dealers that pull this garbage.

Good luck to you and let us know what the final outcome is.
