My automatic '03 G35 had a valve cover leak. We fixed it and changed spark plugs but now have a sporadic misfire when in drive or reverse when at a full stop. After it revs out of low idle the misfire goes away. Any ideas on what this could be and how to fix this would be appreciated.

Does the SES light come on? That usually happens with a real misfire.

You have to remove a lot of parts to fix a valve cover leak, so it's possible there is an air leak somewhere. It's also possible that relearn procedures need to be done.

No SES light yet, just the annoying sporadic misfire. I will try the procedure you posted. Thanks!

Any luck? I have code P0300 "Random Misfire" and haven't been able to find a solution yet
Thanks in advance!
