2001 pathfinder w/NAV

I am wondering if anyone here has the same issue as I am having.....My 01 Pathfinder w/NAV has the A/C button controls mounted on the nav unit, the buttons are falling off and I just want to get rid of the whole NAV system and replace it with a regular am/fm reciever w/CD player.......which means now I need to install A/C dial controls...I figured I could place them where my current Bose reciever is. Am I making sense? Can anybody help me with this?? I want to love this car but this is frustrating!

I'm not aware of anybody having replaced an auto A/C unit with a manual control unit. You can try obtaining an auto A/C control unit without navigation, hopefully it'd plug right in and work without a problem. I'll take a look at the wiring diagrams later to try to confirm that.

Welcome to NICO.

if you wait a while, there is a guy who sells refurbished units on ebay for something like $300-500. Apparently, he can get the OEM buttons from the original supplier. Its probably worth it to wait a while, as you'd probably spend the same amount on a new head unit, climate control, steering wheel adapter, after market harness etc...

You're probably right but I had heard about someone switching over to manual controls due to the fact that the buttons are so flimsy they just keep snapping off. We'll see, I don't want to do anything drastic but having the a/c controls integrated with the nav (which I don't even use do to its age) is a pain. Thank you, we'll see what happens!
