Hi. I just bought a 2001 I30 with 63,000 miles. How difficult is it change the spark plugs?

Thanks for the info.

You have to take the engine cover off and you have access to the front plugs. For the back, you need to take off the top of the intake manifold.

Not with a 2001 with the VQ30DE-K. You just move some wires out of the way and you can reach the rear plugs/coils easily.

If you've ever changed the plugs on a car before, you can do it on this one. Just remove the coil (one 10mm bolt and pull out) and use a spark plug socket to get the plug out. You'll need a pretty long extension to get the rears out, but it's very possible without removing the upper IM (which is a PITA on the DE-K since it has so many bolts in the back, unlike our VQ35s)
