Dear all,

Today, I just found that the two rear windows could not open completely. I have a try of all buttons on both passanger side and driver side, however, it seems useless.

Although the two rear windows could not be open completely, they stop at the same height finally.

Coud anybody tell me what's wrong with them?

not trying to be rude, but have you taken a minute and looked at the rear doors??

It is physically impossible for them to roll all the way down because they stop before they hit the curve at the back of the door

yeah, it seems they reached something when they stop to roll down. Does it means they already touch the end and could not open completely?

Was installed as a child safety feature in most every car.

It's actually not a child safety feature, although I've heard that explanation used many times. It's as noted by tigersharkdude: the wheel arch cutout in the door is in the way of the window, so the window can't drop all the way. On cars with longer back doors or doors with less intrusion by the wheel arch, windows go all the way down.

I've always though the same thing. Never really understood why the child would fall out of the window in the first place... but now it makes sense!
