1997 Pathfinder tail light swap?

Hello everybody I am wanting to swap my stock tail lights for something a little better and was wondering if a 2000 pathfinder's tail lights would fit ? I really like the red and white look of the newer pathy's lights but if not does anyone have any suggestions ? either way thank you in advance.

Hey guys I have a youtube video that basically shows a 97 pathy with the 2000's taillights exept this pathy is in colombia so maybe thing are different over there ? If anyone has any information please let me know.

TTT. Just bought a '99 and would like to do this swap. I'm 95% sure they'll work but it'd be great to get some confirmation. Surely someone here has done this swap.

I've done it.... the bulbs are different between the 98 and 99.5 so you will either have to change the bulb harness or do what i did and shave the tail light for the bigger light bulbs to fit....

So you shaved the inside of the light where the bulbs are inserted? Do they still twist and lock into place?

Super easy job. I have a 98 Pathfinder and noticed one of my tail lights was broken. I hate the yellow turn signals and nobody makes a nice aftermarket pair. I have read these forums and thought I would have to change the harness and bulbs and whatnot. I bought a pair of new 2000 Pathfinder tail lights online for 90 bucks. Install was a breeze!! The lights came with the harness and all I had to do was plug them in! I did install LED bulbs in the turn and backup spots. But had to do no modifications whatsoever. Plug and play. They look sooo much better than the factory lights too. Juts make sure you buy the lights with the harness attached and you should have no problems. Also if you are going to use LED turn signal bulbs you will need to replace the stock flasher with an LED flasher and take some of the dash apart to switch it.
