Hi all, my GF has a 1994 J30 that is having intermittent starting problems. When it starts it runs great, but a few times (like now) it cranks-almost starts-and then nothing just keeps cranking.

I have checked for spark while cranking (ok) and fuel (not ok - no fuel just what was left in the line) as far as I can remember there is no noise from the tank area and has no other indications that the fuel pump itself was\is going out, I am pretty sure it is the fuel pump relay or something like that , anyone know where it is located on this car or if there is something else like a relay that could cause the non-starting? Thanks!Report Post | IP: Logged

Likely is the fuel pump or the fuel sender or both. Both parts are located under the back seat in the fuel tank. To change either, your going to have to remove the backseat.

here is where you can find a diagram:

Before you go replacing parts check the fuel pump fuse in the main fuse box.

I would find you the location of the relay but I do not have my FSM in front of me.
