I just purchased a 1993 240sx convertible automatic and have had 4 occasions where it would not shift gears - revving up to about 5000rpms before I let up on the gas.

Has anyone experienced this?

Plug on your fuse box inisde the engine bay. You revolutionary sensor is bad. As long as your speedo works now your car will shift after unplugging this.

this is the same thing that brought me to nico... i wonder how many vert owners have come to nico for this very same cause.

i unplugged the bottom connector under the fuse/relay box on the passenger side in the engine bay. it shifted just fine for as long as we had the car on the road.

welcome to nico.

Any chance of getting a picture to show what it is you're unplugging? Is it in the fuse box, or under it? I thought I was going to have to put in a new trans, but if this does the trick....wow! Worth a try anyway.

i'd link you right to the picture, but everyone needs to read this whole article before we let you in our little club.

Thanks much. I did go to that thread yesterday but didn't think there was an answer - today I realize I only read through to the bottom of page 1 - duh! Happy holidays!

im having the same problem as everyone else.. when its cold my tranny does not want to shift out of first now and again. All i do is turn my ignition of and back on again real quick and every time i do that it shifts into second. i put some "miracle fluid in it a month ago and over time it seemed to help out ok although it is not fixed because it does still happen every once in awhile.
