I have had a intermitent ticking that would come and go. I now have ticking and LOW Oil Pressure. Anyone with thoughts on what might be wrong would be extremely helpful. The Car runs fine with plenty of power but I of course am not driving her until this is figured out.

Run some Seafoam in the engine oil for 100 miles before your next oil change, and then use a good 5 or 10W30 synthetic. Often that helps.

You probably don't have low oil pressure. It's famous for the pressure transducer's hole to plug up and read incorrectly. You can remove it and try to clean the tiny hole, or buy a new one for under $100

Be sure to use Royal Purple on your next oil change. I did and I noticed a substantial power increase.

Things I would do:1. Immediately insert LUCAS oil additive (makes oil climb to the top of the engine)2. Drive for a while and ticking should stop.3. Oil Change- 20W-50 oil regular oil (synthetic oil will immediately expose all of your leaks, and you will have a pool of petroleum under your car the next morning)4. Make sure that the low oil pressure is due to a bad sensor/gauge and not the oil pressure sending unit.

Good Luck!

I second the motion of a bad oil pressure sending unit it is perhaps the most common gauge to be faulty. See if it ticks after driving the car for 20-30 mins and if so then replacing the lifters would be necessary eventually. Make sure you do your research before putting some additives into your oil.
