PCV Valve Replacement

Intro

Pretty easy once bracket is gone. Better to do when you are replacing alternator. You are removing from top.

PCV-Location

Tools

-mirror-small vise grips or hose clamp pliers-19mm box end wrench(stubby better)-flash light



Procedure(Disconnect battery)

1. remove the oil filter

2. remove the oil sending switch Deep 27mm(located next to the fiter), unplug it first!Oil switch-DOHC

3. unbolt the alternator and move it aside (14 MM), DO NOT UNHOOK THE WIRING ON THE BACK OF THE ALTERNATOR Alternator removal

4. remove the intake manifold bracket (this is the mount behind the alternator (14 MM) see Intake manifold bracket tutorial

5. slide hose clamp away from pcv valve. (leave vise grips attached).Unscrew pcv valve 19mm. You can use a small vise grip once it is loose. Bend the hose to dislodge once unscrewed. Attach some vise griips to pcv valve and twist/pull to get it out of hose.
